How It Works

Corporate Big LLC is primarily a web design firm developed as a proving ground for the viability of an internet-based software hub being designed by Dan Coleman.

Many web designers are graphic designers who have learned to make websites using html editors like Frontpage. These folks may know how to build a good brochure, but by no means are they internet technology specialists. Unfortunately, it is hard to tell the difference.

The income for these folks usually comes from two sources, charging for the initial design of website and then charging per website update (or for x number of updates per month). Most of them barely know how to post your website, let alone make them process anything. The main problem with this business model is that no matter what the client suffers, even though they usually pay comparable compensation to top web firms. These designers can only manage a few clients because the more clients they bring on, the more time they spend updating websites.

Pretty soon these graphic designers are swamped with making website updates using clunky software, and frustrated because they don't have time to do graphic design, which is what they want, and are trained, to do.

Corporate Big currently has beta accounts for over 30 companies on our hub and we estimate our capacity both in storage and performance is currently around 100. All of these businesses and entities have come to us through the word-of-mouth generated by a service that is actually solving business problems.
Accounts on our hub are usually given out because of either an invitation or referral. An account on our hub is viewed much like the monthly maintenance charges on a condo, where you are accessed a low monthly fee. This fee is very often less than some were paying their original "webmaster."

When Wendy Levine first launched her start-up sofware company, Tova Systems, her fledging business was surviving on investment capital and didn't yet have any income or clients. The problem was that in order to get clients, Tova needed a powerful, dynamic and professional web presence but they were being quoted $20-30k by web design firms. Corporate Big was able to help Tova Systems launch a site with the services they needed for an upfront cost of less than 10% of their lowest quote!

Although all of our sites are running on beta software, our servers maintain a 99.9% availability and even as Dan improves the hub our client's sites never go down, they simply become more powerful.

And as we add more features to the hub, all accounts have access to them at no additional cost!

When one of our business clients asked us if we could connect to a costly email newsletter service, we saw that a newsletter was a feature that would benefit the majority of Corporate Big's clients and so offered to split the cost of development. Once the newsletter feature was complete, it was integrated into the hub and our clients immediately had the ability to create and email newsletters-- at no additional cost to them! Because the newsletter resides on the same hub which houses all client data, the newsletter draws existing data from each client's zone, to make populating the newsletter as simple as checking a box! (Incidentally, there are newsletter services that you can subscribe to. The cheapest we've found is $35.00 per month, and one local politician pays $450 a month for the service!).

What does a zone do for me?

We have invented a thing we call a web hub and divided it into units called zones.

Each zone is highly configurable both in size (we do it in gigabytes) and function and can accommodate powerful functions for your project or company.

With a zone, your company has immediate access to collaborative tools for schedule management, communications, resource management, and much much more.

With a zone, your project can syndicate to a list of interested parties and broadcast status updates or publish periodic newsletters.

A zone lets you store digital media in obfuscated but web accessible locations to make file exchange easier and more efficient.

A zone lets zone owners share certain resources such as zipcode lists and black lists to make them more efficient and more secure.

Zones collect historical data and allow you to analyze the effectiveness of marketing campaigns, promotions and miscellaneous press.
